Frequently Asked Questions
Who needs counselling/psychotherapy?
People often seek professional help at times of crisis or at a cross-road in their life. However, anyone can benefit from gaining a deeper insight into themselves.
How do we start?
The most important factor in this work is for you to feel safe and comfortable with me. You may feel anxious about contacting a counsellor or therapist but please contact me either by phone or email. We can then arrange a no-obligation initial meeting where you have the opportunity to begin to talk about your issues and see if you feel at ease with me and the way I work. All work is carried out in strict confidentiality.
How long will it take?
This depends on the presenting issue/s. Short-term counselling/psychotherapy tends to take between 6 and 18 sessions. Long-term counselling/psychotherapy is open-ended. However, as the client you have the right to end the sessions at any time.
How often do we meet?
Counselling and psychotherapy normally takes place at the same time on a weekly basis. I work Monday to Friday including evenings (8am to 8pm).
How much will it cost?
