Before I started my private practice I was a teacher for 19 years educating children and young people with severe and multiple learning disabilities.
Areas of Specialism
I am qualified and experienced in all areas of psychological and emotional distress. However, I am particularly interested and experienced in difficulties relating to depression, anxiety, confidence and self esteem issues, personal development, anger, abuse, relationship issues, childhood/family related issues and working with counsellor/psychotherapy trainees.
I adopt an integrated approach to counselling and psychotherapy which emphasises the importance of the therapeutic relationship. As a client you need to feel safe, secure, heard and understood in order for you to explore and examine your issues and life. My approach also honours your spiritual dimension within the therapeutic work.
My practice is based on the respect and value for each client and I will adapt my approach to help meet your individual needs. I will try to help you reconnect with your strengths and resources so that you are actively engaged in finding ways to resolve your problems.
